Sanur Harbor which is located on the Sunrise beach of Sanur to Nusa Penida.
The port of Sanur serves as a sea transportation node for crossing small ships to the opposite islands such as Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Ceningan Island and Nusa Lembongan Island, as well as GiliTerawangan Island, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The current condition in Sanur does not have a port so that passengers who will get on and off at the location must go down to the water on the seafront with wet conditions. With the existence of port facilities, it is expected to improve the safety and comfort of passengers.
The construction of the Sanur Seaport Facility is carried out in the 2020-2022 Fiscal Year period which is sourced from the APBN with a budget ceiling of Rp. 398 Billion.
“This port is almost Rp. 400 billion, while those in Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan are both almost Rp. 200 billion. This is not a small amount. For this reason, the President has warned that the development carried out must be able to produce outcomes that are beneficial and useful for the community. Sanur-Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan must be well connected,” said the Minister of Transportation.
In addition to building Sanur Port infrastructure, in the future the Minister of Transportation wants there to be efforts to improve ferry facilities by implementing a buy the service scheme. Through this scheme, the existing ferry operators will be able to get subsidies so that they can further improve the quality of their ferry boats.
“I’m sure we can also complete it with buy the service so we subsidize the people who are here to provide safe ships, ships that are suitable for tourism,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bali Governor WayanKoster said the construction of Sanur Port and two other ports in Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan was very important to support connectivity in Bali. He hopes that this development can provide benefits for advancing the economy of the Balinese people.
