Toyapakeh Harbor is the port of arrival on the island of Nusa Penida for most fast boat companies coming from Bali. It is also a place for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Toyapakeh Harbor will probably be your first contact with the island of Nusa Penida. Because it is the destination port of most speed boat companies coming from Bali. Fast boats usually arrive between the port and the large pier that accommodates the ferry (known as Banjar Nyuh). You may indeed see at this pier a long line of trucks waiting for the ferry to arrive. This is where building materials arrive for all Nusa Penida island development projects. The small port itself is one of the departure points for snorkeling tours, boat trips to the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Gili
Toyapakeh is one of the best dive sites in Nusa Penida. Water currents are often important. Therefore, you will enjoy admiring the corals and aquatic fauna by letting you get carried away. And if you are lucky you will also have a great view of Mount Agung. You can also practice snorkeling, but preferably under the supervision of a boat.
We really like Toyapakeh dive site because of the diversity of flora and fauna. Lots of schools of Platax fish, fusiliers, sweetlips and jackfish. We get to admire giant tuna and trevaly on a regular basis. We can also meet MolaMola there, from time to time, throughout the season. With the abundance of flora you can also observe many species of crabs, shrimp and nudibranchs.
Toyapakeh is also the starting point for snorkeling tours which will usually take you to Manta Bay to see manta rays, then to Crystal Bay and Gamat Bay. Snorkelling trips usually end with drifting along the Toyapakeh reef to the shore.
